In order to develop youth energy and getting their contribution and commitment to the social development and to have justice in society, economy and politics through a social force the Asian youth center was established first in chennai 1984. Most.Rev.Toshio Miyake, the Founder of the World Conference on Religion and Peace (WCRP) and Sensai Rev.Mitsuo Miyake were the pioneer founders. Their visit to Sri Lanka in 1988 led to the establishment the AYC Sri Lankan Chapter.

There are other AYC Chapters in Japan, Nepal, Pakistan, Vietnam, Thailand and Bangaladesh who are working towards a common vision with the cooperation of each chapter.

The duty of youth is to help distressed children” Under this theme International assembly of Asian Youth Center will meet in the historical resplendent city of Kandy in  salubrious Sri Lanka from the 24^th to 27^th May 2013. At a recent ex-co meeting of the AYC Sri Lanka chapter held under the auspices of its Sri Lanka chairman  Mr Ravi Kandage decided on the preliminaries.  Delegates from all 12 countries under the chairmanship of Rev   Mitsuo Miyake of Japan shall attend the conference. Mr Sukumar David General Secretary has convened a meeting on the 28^th September 2012 to finalize all arrangements.
